Howdy y'all. Its your favorite Nebraskan missionary reporting
in from Argentina.
This week was a very long week. I'm not going to lie. I'm
quite tired. But it was also a pretty good week. Not too much to talk about
honestly, but it was a good time.
We have been meeting with Juliana this week and finishing up
on the lessons that we are teaching her before her baptismal interview, which
should be this Sunday if all goes well, which means her baptism will be the
18th. She is progressing really well and learning a lot at the same time. This
week as we were teaching her, we shared with her the need to get her mom´s
permission to baptize her. Her mom has been nice since we met her, but has been
pretty closed to hearing us teach her. She hasn't said anything against us
teaching her daughter, but as Juliana has talked to her trying to get the
permission, the mom told her that she doesn't have any problem with her going to
church, but does not want her to be baptized. So we are going to try and meet
with both of them this week and try to explain to Juliana's mom what it is that
we do as missionaries and also what Juliana will be doing as a member of the
church. To help us in the effort to get the permission, Juliana fasted and has
been praying a lot to help her mom see the real desire that she has to be
baptized. Juliana even came to church yesterday, all on her own, and in the
rain. And if I haven't explained it before, here in Argentina, if its raining,
no one, and I mean NO ONE leaves, especially not to go to church. So she is
really showing a true desire and her testimony is growing even more through her
sacrifices.
Also with Pablo we are still passing for him trying to keep
him motivated and learn as much as he can for his baptism. From what happened
in the interview last week, President Westover still wants to meet with him.
Luckily we will have a District Conference this Sunday that he will be able to
talk to Pablo.
Also this coming week we are going to have a special Mission
Conference in Paraná and we will be visited by Elder Benjamin de Hoyos from the
Seventy and also the President of the Area. He came here last year with Elder
Rasband and I had the opportunity to shake his hand, so it will be great to
get to listen to him again.
So yeah. Not too much to report this week, but we are
working hard and staying happy. Thank you all!
