Last Tuesday
we didn’t have too many lessons. One actually. Yeah, it’s been kind of not
great on our part. We are trying to look for new people to find and get to
their houses to teach them, but we aren’t having too much luck finding, and the
people we do find are never home. But we are trying really hard to keep working
hard and be positive. We had one lesson with a family that hasn’t been reading
the Book of Mormon at all, so we had a lesson on the Book of Mormon and tried
inviting them to read a gain. We invite everyone to read.
Wednesday.
Nothing happened this day. No lessons, no nothing.
Actually,
that’s how most of the week was. I know I’m not being the most positive and
happy messenger of God right now, but the work has been kind of tough. This
week has been a pretty tough one especially. Almost all of our investigatores
we have to stop seeing because they aren’t progressing. We do have one
investigadora se llama Soledad. She is super sweet and calls us her
grandchildren. She was an investigadora before, but had to stop taking the
lessons because her kids really didn’t want her to have the lessons. But, she
decided that if they don’t want her to be baptised, so what. So, she is being
baptized this weekend! :)
This week we also had our Conferencia de Zona y
Conferencia de Distrito. They were both really good. We got to hear from both
Presidente and Hermana Perez, once in each meeting. So we were very well fed,
spiritually too. And with all the missionaries in town for zone conf, we were
fed very well with empanadas. One thing that Presidente said that was really
good was that he shared Matt 17:18-21 with us. The scriptures are about how the
Apostles can’t do something and Jesus tells them they aren’t able to do it
because they aren’t faithful enough. But one of the things that he shared is
that the only reason we don’t have success is because we don’t believe and work
to have success. So that was a slap to the face, and absolutely true for me. I
know we can go out and find people, but honestly, I haven’t been puting in my
absolute best effort. But I am not going to keep doing that. So this next email
is going to be a whole lot better, I promise. We hare happiest when we are
working as hard as we can. This week will be better!
We ask so many people how we can offer service to them
and they always turn us down. We want to
do more!
Oh yeah, and
it rained literally every day this week. No pictures, but I’m sure it’s going
to continue for this week too so I’ll try to get more of them.
Some fun
facts:
Hardest
thing: Having to drop investigadores
Weirdest
thing: sometimes I forget that I’m still in Argentina
Frustrating
thing: When people don’t follow commitments.
Best tasting:
Noquis
Worst
tasting: A kind of tuna, rice, peas mash thing.
Funniest
thing: Emiliano. I flipping love that kid so much and he has the most innocent,
amazing humor.
Craziest
thing: One guy tried to share some Anti-Mormon stuff with us.
But yeah.
This week is Mother’s Day and that’s going to be amazing! It will be so amazing
to see your faces and talk to you on Skype!
Can’t wait to tell you guys how well this week goes. See ya later!
Con Amor,
Elder Haley
